Love : An Elixir

Love, these days, starts in a coffee shop and ends in bedroom.
Why is it that Love is nothing but a conditional compromise. Love is now defined in terms of dating. Love only happens if you meet someone in a coffee shop or a mall, when you go to high end restaurants for dinner, only when the boyfriend buys expensive gifts. Love has now become a business deal. Sign in paper. A mere word.

Lost are those days when love used to mean gazing at each other, not moving onto another person if things don't work well, or breaking up on stupid pretext. When one letter one a year is was was enough to express love than thousands of long conversations over the phone.

Gone are those days when Love meant sacrificing your well being for the other, or the mere presence of that person beside you was exciting enough, or just holding her hand was a felony, when two people would fight against all odds and society, just to be together, when they were the whole world to each other, when no one thought that there can be something like "It's not working" could be said.

Those were the times when love was not just a relationship, but the source of survival, an elixir.

It's easy now, difficult then. It's not love now, it used to be love then.
